Blueprint for agricultural development: 11th Agricultural Census 2021-22 to be held in Tripura

With the joint initiative of Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare and government of Tripura, it has been decided to organize 11th Agricultural Census 2021-22. The main objective of the Agricultural Census is to determine the blueprint of agricultural development in future.

The Agricultural Census will be completed in 3 phases. Agricultural year for the first phase started from July 1, 2021 till June 30, 2022. Agricultural year for the second phase  will starts from July 1, 2023 till June 30, 2024. Agricultural year for the third phase starts from July 1, 2023 till June 30, 2024. The Agricultural Census was launched on July 28, 2022 at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.

It  has been informed in  a press release on behalf of Tripura Agricultural Census Commissioner that data of Agricultural Census will be collected from total 897 revenue villages through mobile and tablet. The first phase of Agricultural Census of collecting data will be completed by December 31 with the help of district administration, sub-division administration, Finance and Statistics department, Agriculture and  Farmers’ Welfare department, Horticulture &  Soil Conservation department and under supervision of Revenue department of Tripura.

Data collectors are going door to door and collecting household related information through digitized land record using apps, software in hand-held device. The people of revenue villages are being urged to produce necessary information to government employees of all levels appointed under Agricultural Census. Cooperation of all has been sought for the success of Agricultural Census.
